Isomiddin Ismanov, the Deputy Governor of Andijan Region for tourism, culture, and mass communications, was detained at his home while receiving a bribe of $50,000. A source from Kun.uz in the prosecutor's office confirmed this information, stating it has been officially verified.

According to investigative data, the official promised a citizen assistance in formalizing 20 acres of land from the state reserve in the "Bobur Shaharcha" area for entrepreneurial activity and obtaining a construction permit. For these services, he demanded $50,000. Based on the citizen's complaint, on April 4, officers from the State Security Service and law enforcement agencies conducted an operational measure, detaining the deputy governor while he was receiving the money.

On April 5, the Andijan Regional Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case against Ismanov under Article 25.168 Part 4(a) and Article 28.211 Part 3(a) of the Criminal Code. The official is currently detained under procedural measures as the investigation proceeds.

Isomiddin Ismanov had been serving as Deputy Governor of Andijan Region since December 2025. Previously, he held various positions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, including from 2022 to 2025 as Deputy Head of the Andijan Regional Police Department – Head of the Public Security Service. In 2021, he was awarded the "For Faithful Service" medal.

It is recalled that in autumn 2024, another Deputy Governor of Andijan Region for investments, Botirjon Hamroyev, was sentenced to 7 years for embezzlement of budget funds, abuse of official authority, and other crimes. In January 2026, an appellate court mitigated Hamroyev's sentence due to compensation for damages, and he was released.
