A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United Kingdom with Fiona Kashli, a representative of the media company Saba Productions, to discuss the filming of a documentary on the life and scientific legacy of Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna). This was reported by the “Dunyo” information agency.
It is reported that the project is being implemented with the support of entrepreneur Ehson Rahbar. During the meeting, embassy representatives emphasized the importance of accurately reflecting historical facts without alterations when interpreting the figure of Avicenna in the upcoming film. It was also noted that it is necessary to present the scholar as a great Eastern thinker who significantly influenced the development of science and medicine in the West and belongs to all of humanity.
According to Fiona Kashli, the creative team will complete filming in Istanbul on April 3–5 and arrive in Uzbekistan on April 6. The main filming is scheduled for April 7–12 in the Bukhara region—the area where the scholar was born and raised.
It is noted that the project serves to promote Uzbekistan's rich historical and intellectual heritage internationally, as well as to broadly highlight the contributions of representatives of the Second Renaissance era to world civilization.
Previously, the premiere of the historical film “Amir Temur,” created by an American director over 6 years, took place. The filming process occurred in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. According to the film's producer, this is a commercial project that did not use state budget funds.
