The basic norm for natural gas consumption during the heating season has been extended until March 15 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region. The Ministry of Energy announced that this decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers under the president's instruction.

According to "Uzgidromet," low air temperatures are expected in these areas in the first 15 days of March, prompting the extension to support the population.

The increased basic consumption norm applies from November to February, reducing by 100 cubic meters from March 1. In 2025, this norm was extended until April 1 for all regions.

Compensations for electricity and natural gas are paid monthly to low-income families.
