️ Behzod Hamraev, Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, has been elected as the Vice-Chair of the 57th session of the United Nations Statistical Commission. The session is taking place in New York and will conclude on March 6.

️ According to reports from Dunyo.info, Hamraev is participating in the session as the head of the Uzbek delegation. Within the forum, representatives from national statistical agencies, international organizations, and expert communities are discussing issues related to the development and modernization of official statistics.

️ Key agenda topics include improving indicator systems for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030, expanding the use of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in official statistics production, developing the "Beyond GDP" concept for a more comprehensive assessment of progress and well-being, and integrating environmental and climate change data into national reporting systems.

️ It is noted that Uzbekistan's participation holds particular significance against the backdrop of the country conducting its first-ever comprehensive population and agricultural census. The census is emphasized to be carried out in strict accordance with the latest UN international recommendations.

️ On the sidelines of the session, high-level meetings are planned between the Uzbek delegation and the leadership of the UN Statistical Commission, as well as leading international experts. Additionally, it is recalled that in April 2025, Uzbekistan was elected for the first time as a full member of the UN Statistical Commission for the period 2026–2029.
