In the Dostlik canal in December 2025, the body of a 43-year-old man was discovered, who, according to investigation data, was hit by a police officer and then thrown into the water. This was reported by the deceased's relatives to the publication "Daryo".

The body was found on February 28 at around 10:30. According to the relative of the deceased, Shahzod Ummatkulov, the body was buried in sand. The remains were found in the lower part of the flow where they were dumped by the police officer and his wife, under tamarisk bushes about 4 km from the dumping site.

Earlier, with the assistance of the Tashkent region governor, the water flow in the Dostlik canal was partially blocked, and the water level was lowered. In the search operations, rescuers from the Emergency Situations Ministry, local residents, and the deceased's relatives—totaling about 150 people—participated, but the body was not found at that time.

On December 11, 2025, a police officer driving a Nexia-3 car on the Buka-Bekabad road hit a 43-year-old man. According to the publication Kun.uz, he was intoxicated. After the accident, he called his spouse and asked her to arrive in a Matiz car. The victim was transferred from the Nexia to the Matiz and taken away from the scene. According to the investigation version, the man was thrown into the Dostlik canal, located approximately 35–40 km from the accident site.

The body was found 80 days after the incident.

The district prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 (Violation of traffic rules or vehicle operation safety rules resulting in death) and Part 2 of Article 117 (Abandonment in danger resulting in death) of the Criminal Code. The suspect has been arrested.
