The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has advised citizens to postpone travel to Middle Eastern countries until the situation stabilizes. On February 28, following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and Iran's retaliatory strikes, airspace in the region was closed, leading to the cancellation of flights, including those between Uzbekistan and Israel, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Many state representatives, including Uzbek citizens, are facing difficulties due to flight cancellations or delays, closure of transit routes, and other organizational issues. Citizens in the region are urged to remain calm and vigilant, avoid crowded places, strictly adhere to local laws, and maintain contact with diplomatic missions.
The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has temporarily suspended the Umrah pilgrimage program to Saudi Arabia. Uzbekistan Airways is organizing repatriation flights from Jeddah to Tashkent starting March 2.
