The Uzbek youth national team (U17), coached by Sergey Chigodayev, scored two unanswered goals against Australia.

The team successfully completed the group stage of the Asian Cup.

In the final match on May 13, Chigodayev's squad netted two goals without reply against Australia. Goals were scored by Mirkomil Murodov and Akhror Ravshanbekov.

Uzbekistan finished first in Group D with 6 points. Australia (3 points) advanced to the quarterfinals as runners-up. India finished without points.

Earlier, Uzbekistan defeated India 3-0, securing an early spot in the World Cup and quarterfinals.

Uzbekistan's quarterfinal match will take place on May 16 against the second-placed team from Group C (South Korea, Vietnam, UAE, or Yemen).

The U17 World Cup will be held in November-December this year in Qatar.
