The regular meeting of the Women Leaders' Dialogue of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan took place in Bukhara. The event was attended by the heads of parliaments of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan, deputy heads of legislative bodies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of UN structures.
This platform, established in 2020 on Uzbekistan's initiative, this year again came under the chairmanship of Tashkent. A significant event was the official accession of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the format, which significantly expanded the boundaries of regional partnership.
The meeting was opened by Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. She emphasized that women's solidarity within the Dialogue makes a substantial contribution to integration processes and strengthening the role of women in public administration. The key theme of the current meeting was women's leadership in science, the search for innovative solutions, and the development of scientific cooperation in the face of global challenges.
Alongside the main meeting, a large-scale forum of women scientists was held in Bukhara. Participants noted that solving acute problems such as climate change, water scarcity, and digital transformation is impossible without the active participation of women researchers. Two panel sessions discussed the use of artificial intelligence in medicine and public administration, the development of green technologies, and the creation of effective innovation infrastructure.
The meetings in Bukhara resulted in the adoption of a Joint Communiqué. The main practical outcome of the forum will be the creation of a regional network of women scientists called "SheScience Central Asia." This structure is intended to become a permanent mechanism for promoting joint research, exchanging experience, and training a new generation of scientific personnel capable of ensuring technological sovereignty and sustainable development of the region's countries.
