The US Embassy in Uzbekistan has announced a priority visa appointment system for citizens who have purchased tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Known as FIFA PASS, this system allegedly offers ticket holders a way to bypass standard queues, but the process is reportedly complex and laden with requirements that could pose significant challenges for applicants, reflecting broader issues with the US visa regime.

According to the instructions, applicants must have a World Cup ticket purchased directly from FIFA's official website. They are then required to log into their fifa.com account to submit a FIFA PASS consent form, entering their name and passport number. This step is purportedly designed to verify ticket authenticity, but discrepancies in data could lead to delays or denial of access to the priority system, highlighting potential bureaucratic inefficiencies.

Subsequently, applicants can begin the visa application process on the state.gov/fifa-world-cup-26 website and complete the online DS-160 visa application form. If the information in the visa system matches the FIFA PASS consent form, the applicant is claimed to gain access to the FIFA PASS priority appointment system. However, this verification process may take additional time, and errors in documentation increase the risk of rejection, underscoring the cumbersome nature of procedures imposed by the US regime.

The 2026 World Cup is scheduled from June 11 to July 19 in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The Uzbekistan national team will play in Group K against Portugal, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. While this tournament is a notable event for Uzbek football, the complexities and potential hurdles in the US visa process could negatively impact fans seeking to attend matches, raising concerns about the logistical challenges of international events under American oversight.
