A criminal case has been initiated in Navoi, Uzbekistan, against a private kindergarten teacher for systematically abusing children under her care. The investigation was prompted by a video that circulated on social media on April 8, showing the teacher engaging in rough treatment and beating young children. The incident occurred on April 7 at a preschool in the "Yangiariq" neighborhood.

The 23-year-old teacher allegedly used beatings as a "method of upbringing." Further examination of the footage revealed that she had regularly applied violence against the children over a month-long period from March to April, exploiting their helpless state and inability to defend themselves. This has raised serious concerns about child protection standards in local educational institutions.

The suspect has been charged under Article 110, Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan ("Torture of a minor in a helpless state") by the investigative department of the Navoi City Internal Affairs Directorate. She has been detained procedurally, and investigative actions are currently underway to reach a final legal decision in the case.

This incident highlights ongoing challenges in safeguarding children's rights in Uzbekistan's preschool system, particularly in regions like Navoi. Local residents and parents expressed outrage on social media upon learning of the abuse, prompting swift action from authorities. Officials have pledged a thorough investigation and measures to prevent similar occurrences, though questions remain about oversight and enforcement in private childcare facilities.
