Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The Senate of the Oliy Majlis held a meeting of the Republican Council on International Ratings and Indices, chaired by Senate Speaker Tanzila Narbayeva. Participants discussed the results of reforms aimed at improving the country's positions in international rankings, as well as plans for 2026.
Over the past year, Uzbekistan improved its positions in 12 out of 20 priority rankings. International rating agency Moody's upgraded the country's sovereign credit rating outlook from "stable" to "positive" for the first time. In the e-government development ranking, the republic rose six places to 63rd among 193 countries.
Additionally, Uzbekistan's achievements were noted for the first time in the World Bank's new World Bank Business Ready ranking. The country joined 29 nations consistently implementing reforms across three indicators and entered the top 10 of the first group in the "Ease of Practice" category.
The meeting reviewed the draft second National Report on improving Uzbekistan's positions in international ratings and indices, draft "roadmaps" for 2026, and annual plans for implementing research projects by relevant organizations.
Participants emphasized the need to accelerate reforms in areas where the country's positions remain unchanged or show decline to maintain positive momentum in international rankings.
