Uzbekistan is set to create a Republican Headquarters for the support of industrial enterprises, which will serve as a key mechanism to enhance business resilience and more effectively utilize the country's industrial potential.
The creation of this structure was discussed during a presentation of measures to address business issues, which was reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the discussion, an analysis of the industrial sector revealed that capacities in industries such as textiles, construction, food, petrochemicals, and electrical engineering are not being fully utilized. The main reasons for underutilization include a shortage of working capital, equipment wear and tear, and supply chain disruptions. Restoring stable operations at these facilities could generate additional production and exports worth 65.6 trillion soums.
This was announced in the context of defining the tasks of the future headquarters, which will be established with the participation of relevant ministries and banks. Its representatives are expected to conduct on-site assessments and identify specific obstacles at each enterprise within two weeks. The headquarters' tasks will include promptly resolving financing issues, facilitating credit provision, and eliminating infrastructure constraints hindering stable growth.
The head of state emphasized that digitalization and control mechanisms should serve as tools to support business, not create additional barriers. Following the presentation, instructions were given on financial recovery of enterprises, expanding export opportunities, and creating new jobs.
