At the prestigious Grenke Chess Open festival in Germany, Uzbek representative Muhammadzohid Suyarov secured a decisive victory in the classical format. He played 9 games without a single defeat, recording 7 wins and 2 draws, which earned him 8 points and first place. This achievement brought him a prize of 20,000 euros.

Other Uzbek chess players also delivered commendable performances at the festival. Muhammadali Abdurakhmonov and Khumoyun Bekmurotov each scored 6.5 points, while Gulruhbegim Tohirjonova finished the tournament with 6 points. These results highlight the development of Uzbekistan's chess school and the rise of young talents in the sport.

In the freestyle format competitions, Uzbekistan's national team captain Nodirbek Abdusattorov placed 7th among 317 participants with 7 points. Nodirbek Yokubboev and Shamsiddin Vohidov secured 11th and 18th positions respectively, and Afruza Hamdamova ranked 80th. The Freestyle Open was won by German chess player Vincent Keymer with 7.5 points.

The tournament served as a significant milestone for Uzbek chess players, who demonstrated robust gameplay against top-tier opponents. Suyarov's victory builds on his previous successes, as he had earlier won a gold medal in the rapid format at the World Under-20 Championship in Lima, Peru.
