The State Security Service has released video footage of the detention of Isomiddin Ismanov, the deputy governor of Andijan Region. The video shows Ismanov counting $50,000 at his home and insisting that the money be referred to as a 'debt'.

During the recording, a clear dialogue between Ismanov and a businessman is audible. In response to the businessman's question, 'The 50 thousand has been handed over, brother?', Ismanov states, 'This is called a debt, you know? This must be accounted for.' The businessman later requests documentation, but Ismanov continues to emphasize the term 'debt'.

Ismanov allegedly demanded $50,000 in exchange for processing 20 acres of land from the state reserve in the 'Bobur Shaharcha' area. He was detained on April 4 while receiving the money at his home during an operational event conducted by the State Security Service.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the official under Article 25.168, Part 4, Clause 'a' and Article 28.211, Part 3, Clause 'a' of the Criminal Code. He is currently held in procedural detention. This incident is noted as part of ongoing anti-corruption efforts in Uzbekistan, highlighting persistent challenges in governance.
