️ Two police officers have been arrested for bribery in Tashkent, according to the State Security Service.
️ A 44-year-old resident of Almazar District was found with 3 grams of hashish, prompting a pre-investigation check. A senior operative from the Criminal Investigation Department of Shaykhantaur District Police, in collusion with a senior operative from the Tashkent City Police Criminal Investigation Directorate, demanded $2,200 from the citizen to avoid criminal prosecution. The officer had previously received $1,000 of the agreed amount.
️ The remaining $1,200 was being collected by the officer in his office when he was detained by Tashkent City State Security Service personnel. The senior operative from the Tashkent City Police Criminal Investigation Directorate was also detained procedurally.
️ The Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case against the officers under Part 2 of Article 210 (Bribe-Taking) of the Criminal Code. They have been remanded in custody, and investigative actions are currently underway.
️ Previously, a prosecutor's office employee was arrested for demanding $9,000 to "resolve the issue through acquaintances" and not take action regarding illegal electricity use worth 276 million soums.
