️ Plans have been announced in Khorezm Region to increase agricultural production volume by 5.7% and implement new projects, including bioethanol production. This was reported by Agriculture Minister Ibrohim Abdurahmonov in an interview with the "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel. According to the minister, a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev defined the main directions for agricultural development.
️ Abdurahmonov emphasized: "In agriculture, we have reached very significant milestones. The task is to increase production rates by 5.7%, which is considerably higher than last year's indicators. For grain, we must achieve 100 centners per hectare, and for cotton, 51.7 centners. All calculations have been made for these targets." The minister also noted that the government aims to launch new projects related to processing agricultural products and developing alternative fuel types.
️ Specifically, in Tuproqqal'a District, plans include developing 1,000 hectares of land and accelerating a bioethanol production project. According to Abdurahmonov, in the first phase, 500 hectares will be sown with rapeseed, after which bioethanol production is planned. "Its advantage is that it is an environmentally clean fuel. When mixed with gasoline, it helps significantly reduce harmful environmental impact. The president said this should serve as an experience for Khorezm," the minister stated.
️ Back in May 2025, the president reported that a Slovak company had invested $10 million to develop 500 hectares of sandy land in Tuproqqal'a District. The investor intends to expand the project by bringing an additional 4,500 hectares of sandy areas into agricultural use. For the next phase, an additional $170 million in investment is planned, with the project's main focus being rapeseed cultivation and bioethanol production.
️ Additionally, a project to produce environmentally friendly fertilizers is envisaged. The minister said, "We have received a new assignment to produce environmentally clean biofertilizers in cooperation with an Australian company. This project will be implemented in Khorezm as an experiment and is based on using solar energy. In the future, plans include expanding such projects to desert areas as well."
️ Opportunities for exporting rice grown in the region are also being considered. Abdurahmonov reported: "The president says the economy must constantly circulate. In this regard, as a separate experiment, we have been tasked with developing calculations for exporting rice grown in Khorezm in the shortest possible time." At the same time, the minister stressed that when exporting rice, it is necessary to ensure full satisfaction of domestic needs.
️ It is worth recalling that by 2026, plans include attracting $2 billion in foreign investment to Khorezm Region and increasing export volume to $510 million. Key tasks have been set to transform the Pitnak automobile plant into a full-fledged engineering cluster and modernize infrastructure worth $1.6 billion.
