The Traffic Safety Service of the Tashkent City Police Department has released an official statement regarding a major traffic accident in the Mirzo Ulugbek district. The incident occurred on May 5 at approximately 4:35 PM on Mirzo Ulugbek Avenue, involving multiple vehicles.

The official statement was prompted by eyewitness reports and video footage that quickly spread on social media. According to witnesses, a Chevrolet Equinox at high speed rammed into a line of cars waiting for a green traffic light. The powerful impact triggered a chain reaction. Preliminary eyewitness estimates suggest that more than 20 vehicles may have sustained mechanical damage.

Despite the extensive damage to vehicles, official data indicates that only one person (the driver who caused the accident) has sought medical assistance so far and received first aid. According to preliminary information from a source familiar with the situation, the Equinox driver felt unwell behind the wheel and lost consciousness, leading to the crash.

Currently, responsible officers of the Tashkent City Traffic Safety Department are conducting an investigation to determine the exact number of damaged cars and the culprit of the accident. Additional information will be provided based on the results of the inquiry.

Law enforcement authorities once again urge all drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and not exceed the established speed limit to avoid such severe consequences.
