In the picturesque Urgut district of Samarkand region, the "Andak" neighborhood will host the International Paragliding Festival from May 5 to 10. This annual event is renowned as one of the most vibrant tourist attractions of spring, drawing both local enthusiasts and international visitors to the scenic area.
The festival is expected to attract professional athletes and adventure enthusiasts from approximately 10 countries worldwide. The core program features spectacular flights and paragliding competitions, providing thrilling displays for spectators and participants alike.
Beyond the sporting activities, attendees can enjoy gastronomic exhibitions, concerts, national games, and engaging contests. The event aims to promote extreme tourism and enhance the region's appeal to both domestic and foreign tourists.
Concurrently, from May 1 to 7, the Surkhandarya region will host the XIII International Folklore Festival "Boysun Bahori," which will bring together over a hundred folklore groups from 40 countries and showcase unique cultural projects, including a record-sized patchwork quilt.
