An explosion occurred in the O‘rtaovul neighborhood of O‘rta Chirchiq district, Tashkent region, on the night of April 16, resulting in the deaths of 4 people and serious injuries to 2 others. According to press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov, the incident happened around 01:40 due to a violation of fire safety rules.

The deceased include a 30-year-old man, Z.M., his 6-year-old son, and daughters aged 3 and 2. They died at the scene from burns and poisoning by combustion products. The man's wife, G.M., and his mother, B.M., escaped the fire by jumping from the house window and were hospitalized with various bodily injuries at the Nurafshon city medical association.

Neighbors reported that during the explosion, the man attempted to rescue his relatives: he managed to get his wife and mother out through the window, but perished while trying to save his children. Photos circulating online show that a car inside the house also burned down.

From the scene, experts from the Republican Center for Forensic Examination, a criminal expert from the regional police department, and experts from the regional emergency management department collected fire-damaged items, fragments of aluminum wires, and other material evidence. In connection with the case, the district prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case under Part 2, clauses "a" and "b" of Article 259 of the Criminal Code (Violation of Fire Safety Rules) and forwarded it to the investigative department under the Tashkent regional police for preliminary investigation.

Additionally, a service inspection has been appointed regarding the actions of employees of the district emergency department, the "Hududiy elektr tarmoqlari" enterprise, and the "Hududgaz Toshkent" gas supply branch in O‘rta Chirchiq district. This incident underscores the critical importance of adhering to fire safety regulations, leading to tragic outcomes for the family.
