In Uzbekistan, during control measures conducted in the first quarter of 2026 by the Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety and the pharmaceutical inspection department, 25 pharmacies operating without licenses were identified. It was revealed that these pharmacies were functioning without proper permits, blatantly violating established regulations.

The inspection results showed that violations were widespread across regions, with the highest number of cases recorded in Samarkand Province (11 pharmacies). In Andijan, 5 cases were identified, in Namangan 2 cases, and additional instances were noted in Khorezm, Surkhandarya, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Bukhara, Tashkent, and Navoiy provinces.

According to Appendix 4 of the law "On Licensing, Permitting, and Notification Procedures," legal entities face fines of 300 times the basic calculation amount (123.6 million soums) for operating without a license or obtaining licenses using forged documents. The Center emphasized that compliance with legislative requirements is mandatory for all entrepreneurs.

Citizens were urged to contact the Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety if they encounter violations related to pharmacy activities when purchasing medicines. It was noted that Uzbekistan had previously implemented practices to assess medical institutions and pharmacies through "mystery shopper" events, where undercover audits are conducted using hidden audio or video devices.
