In April, Uzbekistan's monthly inflation rate remained unchanged at 0.6%, according to data from the State Statistics Committee.

On an annual basis, price growth slowed to 7% (compared to 7.1% in March). In April last year, annual inflation was 10.1% (monthly 0.7%).

The highest annual price increases were recorded for insurance and financial services (+41.7% year-on-year), housing and utilities (+17.2%), and restaurants and hotels (+8.6%). The slowest growth was in education (+1.7%), household goods (+2.3%), and clothing and footwear (+2.6%).

Among staple foods, mutton rose by 3.7% month-on-month (+20.3% year-on-year), beef on the bone by 3.2% (+16.6%), boneless beef by 3.2% (+17.3%), minced meat by 2.9% (+14.1%), sugar by 2.2% (+2.1%), live and chilled fish by 2.0% (+6.2%), vegetable oil by an average of 0.8% (+10.6%), and milk by an average of 0.4% (+5.6%).

The committee clarified that in April, prices for imported beef increased in the range of 5,000 to 15,000 UZS per kg, while local beef rose by 2,000 to 5,000 UZS per kg.

Prices fell for eggs (-3.6%, +16.7% year-on-year), rice and rice groats (-1.1%, -12.8% year-on-year), and poultry meat (range -1.2% to -1.3%, +4.6% to +5.7% year-on-year).

Among fruits and vegetables, bell peppers rose by 10.3% (-4.0% year-on-year), potatoes by 6.5% (+18.9%), apples by 4.5% (+23.3%), and carrots by 3.2% (-10.4%). Cucumbers fell by 26.1% (-8.9% year-on-year), herbs by 3.3% (-4.5%), onions by 2.7% (-21.5%), tomatoes by 2.4% (-7.7%), cabbage by 2.4% (-9.8%), and bananas by 1.3% (+3.9%).

Gasoline prices rose by 1.4% month-on-month (+11.2% year-on-year). AI-92 grade increased by 1.6%, AI-95 by 0.9%, and AI-98 and AI-100 by 0.2%. Propane prices fell by 2.8% (+16.7% year-on-year), with a ceiling of 7,000 UZS per liter. Methane prices rose by 0.7% (+27.9% year-on-year), with a ceiling of 5,400 UZS per cubic meter.

Parking services became 0.8% more expensive (+11.8% year-on-year).

In April, among major utilities, only waste disposal tariffs rose by an average of 2.4% (+28.0% year-on-year).

Housing rent increased by 0.6% month-on-month (+2.5% year-on-year).
