Under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan, the first online meeting of the Dialogue of Leading Women of Central Asia and Azerbaijan was held. The event, themed "Women of Central Asia and Azerbaijan: Priority Tasks and Joint Actions," saw participation from representatives of parliaments across the region, as well as leaders of international structures, including regional UN subdivisions.

Opening the meeting, Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva highlighted the growing authority of this platform, which since its establishment on Uzbekistan's initiative in December 2020 has become an important tool for advancing joint initiatives. Over the past five years, Dialogue meetings have been held in all countries of the region, and approximately 20 significant documents have been adopted to date.

In 2026, the chairmanship of the structure returned to Uzbekistan, which previously led this platform in 2021. The participation of Azerbaijan gained particular significance in the current agenda: a key factor in its accession to the Dialogue was an initiative laid during the seventh Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev. During yesterday's meeting, participants discussed in detail priority tasks for the year, with special emphasis on activating cooperation among women entrepreneurs, organizing business forums, and exchanging legislative practices in the protection of women's rights and interests.

Under Uzbekistan's chairmanship, a conference on "Women's Leadership in Science" is planned for May in Bukhara, timed with the second Asian Women's Forum. This initiative aims to create a platform for scientific cooperation and the implementation of joint research projects among scholars in the region.

Additionally, separate attention was given to issues of expanding opportunities for young women, which will be a key topic of discussion at the upcoming 12th Global Forum of Young Parliamentarians in Samarkand. Concluding the meeting, participants outlined vectors for international cooperation and expressed readiness to strengthen regional trust, agreeing to summarize the outcomes of this extensive joint work by the end of the current year.
