Uzbekistan has implemented new regulations for assessing the work of artists and sculptors undertaking state commissions. The departmental act, registered with the Ministry of Justice, outlines criteria for determining remuneration for authors of fine and applied art works, factoring in elements such as artistic value, material costs, and creative contribution.

The evaluation of work costs has been assigned to the Artistic-Expert Council under the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan. The council assesses based on artistic value within minimum and maximum indicators linked to the minimum wage size, aiming to establish a transparent and fair system for compensating creative labor in the public sector.

The cost of a work is determined by considering characteristics including the type of artistic piece, complexity of the development process, labor inputs, and the level of the author's creative input. Notably, works created through copying or borrowing from others' pieces or ready-made samples are excluded from evaluation, emphasizing the importance of originality in state-funded art projects.

Concurrently, it was announced that a festival for artists will be held biennially in the city of Babur, Andijan Region. Winners of the festival will receive domestically produced cars as prizes, part of broader initiatives to foster cultural development. These measures reflect Uzbekistan's ongoing efforts to regulate and support the arts sector amid economic and cultural reforms.
