At the "Innoprom. Central Asia" international industrial exhibition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev announced that the country is implementing over 330 joint projects with Russia and Central Asian states, valued at more than $47 billion. This exhibition highlights Uzbekistan's active role in regional cooperation and industrial development.
According to Khojaev, trade turnover with Russia and Central Asian countries approached $22 billion by the end of 2025, reflecting steady dynamics in economic interaction. During the plenary session "Technological Hubs – Eurasia's New Industrial Landscape," he emphasized that industrialization remains a strategic priority for the nation.
The policy of technological renewal has already increased the share of industry in Uzbekistan's GDP to 27%. Key growth drivers identified include mechanical engineering, chemical and petrochemical industries, energy, and next-generation industries. Special attention is being paid to the digitalization of industry, development of the textile sector, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and electromobility.
Mechanical engineering is viewed as a foundational sector for forming broad production cooperation, ranging from automotive to agricultural and electrical equipment. A successful example of collaboration cited was the launch of Copper Concentrator No. 3 at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, implemented jointly with Russian partners.
The sixth international industrial exhibition "Innoprom. Central Asia" opened in Tashkent on April 20 and will run until April 22. The exposition covers 18,000 square meters. The event involves about 10,000 delegates from over 20 countries, including CIS states, China, Germany, Turkey, and the UAE, as well as 16 regions of Russia. Approximately 400 companies from Uzbekistan are participating.
