Uzbek Statesman Rim Giniyatullin Passes Away

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the head of parliament, and members of the government expressed deep condolences over the death of state and public figure, labor veteran Rim Giniyatullin, who passed away on April 19 at the age of 83.

Rim Giniyatullin was born on September 18, 1943, in the Zaamin district of the Jizzakh region. In 1963, he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization (now the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers"), receiving a degree in hydraulic engineering.

Starting his career as a simple worker in the Ministry of Construction, he rose to leadership positions in the water management and agro-industrial complex systems.

From 1989 to 1996, he served as Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Resources, and from 1996 to 1997, as Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan. He made significant contributions to the development of water and agriculture, and actively participated in the activities of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

In his later years, he continued his public activities, contributing to strengthening interethnic harmony, supporting veterans, and educating youth.

For his long-term work and services to the country, Giniyatullin was awarded the honorary titles "Honored Irrigator of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and "Honored Mentor of Youth of the Republic of Uzbekistan," as well as the orders "Mehnat Shukhrati" and "Dustlik."

The memory of the prominent leader, mentor, and sincere person will forever remain in the hearts of his compatriots.
