At the fourteenth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the appointment of Umid Rustamovich Shodiev as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates was considered, based on a proposal from the president.

It was noted that this appointment aims to further strengthen relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE on the basis of mutual trust, as well as to expand practical cooperation in trade, economic, investment, innovation, and tourism spheres.

Senators emphasized that the candidate possesses deep knowledge and practical skills in the field of foreign policy, along with the potential to effectively promote the country's national interests on the international stage.

Following the discussion, Umid Shodiev was confirmed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UAE, a move expected to elevate diplomatic ties between the two nations to a new level.
