The Supreme Court of Uzbekistan has announced a list of sources and content deemed to contain religious extremist, terrorist, and fundamentalist ideas as of April 6, 2026. The import, preparation, storage, distribution, and display of these materials within Uzbekistan's territory are strictly prohibited. This decision is part of efforts to ensure information security and protect society from harmful propaganda, reflecting ongoing measures to regulate the digital space.

The list includes over 1,800 channels, pages, and materials, specifically featuring 270 on Facebook, 854 on Telegram, 386 on Instagram, 1 on Threads, 190 on YouTube, 39 on Odnoklassniki, and 62 on TikTok. Additionally, audio, video, and text materials from websites and social networks are also banned. This comprehensive approach targets a wide range of platforms to curb the spread of extremist ideologies online.

The Supreme Court last published such a list on January 10, 2026, which included approximately 1,600 pages and channels. The new list indicates a significant increase in banned content, highlighting the growing presence of extremist propaganda on the internet. This move underscores the Uzbek government's focus on tightening control over digital communications and enhancing national security amidst global challenges.
