From May 8 to May 12, heavy rainfall is expected in the foothill and mountainous areas of nine regions of Uzbekistan, according to Uzgidromet. The weather service warned of possible mudslides and flooding.

The affected regions include Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan. Dozens of districts are listed as high-risk for mudslides and water accumulation.

Residents, tourists, and drivers in these areas have been urged to take precautionary measures.

Earlier, the Tashkent city administration revealed that the flooding of the Chorsu metro station was caused by critical failures in the irrigation and drainage system. Authorities announced plans to build new lines.
