Uzhydromet has issued a warning that mudslides and flash floods are possible in the foothill and mountainous areas of nine regions of Uzbekistan from May 8 to 12 due to expected rainfall.
The list of at-risk areas includes the foothill and mountainous districts of Tashkent, Surxondaryo, Qashqadaryo, Jizzakh, Samarqand, Navoiy, Namangan, Andijan, and Fergana regions.
According to meteorologists, heavy rains may lead to accumulation of rainwater in some areas, potentially causing flooding. Residents living along riverbeds and streams are advised to take extra precautions.
Uzhydromet recommends that residents of foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers take safety measures, stay away from hazardous zones, and follow official warnings.
In case of emergencies, the public is urged to immediately call the emergency number 112.
