In the Chust district of Namangan region, a fraud case involving the illegal sale of land has been uncovered, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
Law enforcement agencies received a complaint from citizen J.X., who stated that an assistant mayor was promising to help him obtain land. Based on this complaint, an operational operation was conducted jointly with the regional police department, prosecutor's office, and other agencies.
It was established that the assistant mayor of the 'Tinchlik' mahalla, identified as F.B., attempted to sell 20 out of 40 sotiks (0.2 hectares) of land that had been leased to the private enterprise 'Z.A.M' in the 'Sadacha' small industrial zone for production purposes.
The assistant mayor agreed to sell the land for a total of $23,000, promising to arrange the necessary documents through his contacts in the administration. He was caught red-handed by law enforcement while receiving an advance payment of $10,000.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Chust district department for combating economic crimes under Article 25, Part 4, Clause 'a' of the Criminal Code (attempted fraud on an especially large scale). Preliminary investigations are currently underway.
