On July 2, 2025, a brutal incident unfolded in the "Mustaqillik" neighborhood of Koson District, Kashkadarya Region, Uzbekistan. 30-year-old chef Quvonch Sunnatov, after receiving an SMS from his brother-in-law Sangat Musayev to collect his sister's belongings, packed his work knife and headed to the in-law's house. There, he encountered Sangat and his brothers – Golib, Kamol, Lochinbek, and Farhod Musayev, leading to a violent confrontation.

Sunnatov's sister, Sevinch Musayeva, was seven months pregnant and had been sent back to her parents' home by her husband. This angered Quvonch. After loading the belongings, Sevinch cursed her husband, and Sangat insulted her and her mother. In response, Quvonch retrieved his knife and stabbed Golib, Farhod, and Kamol. Kamol died at the scene, Golib succumbed in the hospital, and the other three sustained serious injuries.

During the trial, victim Farhod Musayev claimed that Quvonch's mother urged him to "kill them all" and that Quvonch's younger brother, Qodir, also participated in the stabbing. However, Quvonch Sunnatov fully admitted guilt, stating his mother tried to stop the conflict and that Qodir was not involved. Witnesses corroborated that Qodir did not have a knife.

By the verdict of Koson District Court on December 23, 2025, Quvonch Sunnatov was found guilty of intentional murder and attempted murder, sentenced to life imprisonment in a high-security colony. The appellate ruling of Kashkadarya Regional Court on February 24, 2026, upheld the sentence. The case highlights how minor family disputes can escalate into grave crimes, leaving lasting trauma in the community.
