️ The UN's independent international fact-finding mission has condemned military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran, as well as Tehran's retaliatory strikes on regional countries. In a statement published on March 4, the mission emphasized that the use of force violates the UN Charter and exacerbates the humanitarian situation in the country.
️ Experts highlighted that Iran's population is caught between large-scale external military escalation and internal repression by the authorities, which, as noted in the statement, have a long history of human rights violations. The mission expressed particular concern over reports of the tragedy in Minab city, where a strike on a girls' school has allegedly resulted in over 150 deaths, with most victims being children aged 7 to 12, according to preliminary data.
️ The mission also criticized targeted airstrikes by the US and Israeli regimes against Iranian officials. Experts stated that extrajudicial killings are an "unacceptable means of justice" and contravene international law, even if the individuals targeted may be implicated in crimes.
️ The statement separately expressed concern over Iran's retaliatory strikes on neighboring countries, which, according to the mission, lead to civilian casualties and destruction of civilian infrastructure. Experts also reminded that Iranian society has still not recovered from the harsh suppression of protests that began on December 28, 2025.
