️ Sudan has accused Ethiopia of conducting a series of drone strikes on its southeastern provinces, including Blue Nile. Authorities in Khartoum stated that the attacks violate the country's sovereignty and are of a "hostile nature". Sudan reserves the right to take retaliatory measures to protect... its territory. ️ "Throughout February and early March, the Sudanese government tracked the infiltration of drones from Ethiopian territory, which struck targets inside Sudan. We condemn and reject this hostile behavior, which constitutes a blatant violation of Sudan's sovereignty and an overt act of aggression against the Sudanese state," said a statement from Sudan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ️ Ethiopia has not yet commented on the accusations. ️ The accusations come against the backdrop of an almost three-year civil war in Sudan. Since April 2023, the country's army under General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has been fighting the Rapid Support Forces. The conflict has already claimed tens of thousands of lives, caused mass displacement, and brought the region to the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe.
