Lebanon's health ministry reported that 39 people were killed in another day of intense Israeli strikes across the country. An Israeli strike on the southern town of Saksakiyeh killed at least seven people, including a child, and wounded 15 others, according to the ministry.

In Nabatieh, a double drone strike killed a Syrian national and seriously injured his 12-year-old daughter, who underwent life-saving surgery. Local media reported that the girl was directly targeted in a third strike after the initial attack.

Lebanese armed group Hezbollah launched a drone attack on northern Israel, wounding three Israeli soldiers, one seriously, the Israeli military said.

The exchanges come despite a ceasefire deal announced by US President Donald Trump on April 16 between Israel and Lebanon. Most Israeli airstrikes have hit southern Lebanon, targeting infrastructure and individuals linked to Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militia and political party.

Lebanon's health ministry said Israeli attacks have killed over 120 people nationwide in the past week, including women and children. The ministry does not distinguish between combatants and civilians.

Israeli forces occupy a strip of Lebanese land along the border, destroying entire villages. Rights groups say some actions could amount to war crimes.

After a November 2024 ceasefire, Israel conducted near-daily strikes on Hezbollah targets. Following a US-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28, Hezbollah launched rockets and drones into Israel on March 2. Israel responded with heavy airstrikes on Lebanon.

Since March 2, 2,795 people have been killed in Lebanon, according to the health ministry. Israeli authorities report 17 soldiers and one civilian killed in southern Lebanon, and two civilians in northern Israel.
