Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday stated that his country is prepared to hold negotiations with Russia in Azerbaijan, where he is currently on an official visit. The announcement followed a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Earlier, Zelenskyy wrote on X that he began his visit to Azerbaijan by meeting a Ukrainian expert team sharing experience in protecting skies from Russian drones and missiles. He arrived in Baku on Friday to sign defense and energy cooperation agreements, after visiting Saudi Arabia to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Meanwhile, Russian drone and missile strikes on the city of Dnipro killed at least four people and wounded 27 on Saturday, according to local authorities. Regional head Oleksandr Ganzha said the bodies of four victims were found in the rubble of a house destroyed in overnight attacks. "The Russians have been hitting Dnipro and other cities and communities practically all night," Ganzha wrote on Telegram. A later strike on another apartment building killed one and wounded seven.

In the southern Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian drone struck a civilian minibus, killing one person and wounding four, said Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional administration. The southwestern Odesa region also came under overnight Russian attacks, wounding two people. Regional head Oleh Kiper reported damage to residential buildings, port infrastructure, and cars.

As Russia attacked Ukraine's Odesa region, a drone fell in neighboring Romania. The drone crashed in a residential area of the town of Galați, near the Danube River. This marks the first time debris from Russian drones has caused material damage on Romanian soil, according to local media. Emergency services said the drone fell in a populated area with a possible explosive charge. No casualties were reported, but an electricity pole and a house outbuilding were damaged. Foreign Minister Oana Toiu summoned the Russian ambassador.
