️ The press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan has announced the development of a draft decree "On Measures to Implement the National Program of Uzbekistan for the Fight Against Oncological Diseases for 2026-2035." This document aims to fundamentally improve the country's cancer control system over the next decade, addressing critical healthcare challenges.
️ According to the draft, the main objectives for 2026-2035 include early detection of malignant neoplasms, providing patients with access to modern diagnostics and treatment, and increasing survival rates. The program envisions enhancing the system of early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of oncological diseases based on international standards, which is expected to improve the accessibility and quality of medical care across the nation.
️ As part of the National Program, significant organizational changes are planned. The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Medical Radiology is set to be transformed into a National Oncology Center. This restructuring is designed to strengthen coordination and elevate the level of oncological services throughout Uzbekistan, potentially addressing gaps in regional healthcare infrastructure.
️ It is noteworthy that this new program complements the National Strategy for the Fight Against Childhood Oncology for 2025-2030, which was approved in 2025. That strategy aimed to reduce mortality by 2.5 times and increase child survival rates to 80%. The new 10-year initiative expands these efforts to cover the entire population, with a focus on comprehensive improvements in cancer care, though its implementation will require substantial resources and sustained commitment.
