️ President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on March 4 to discuss transforming Syrdarya Region into a hub of advanced innovations. The region's economy, previously focused on agriculture, is showing structural shifts, with growth reaching 9.8% last year. Special attention is being paid to implementing... Chinese management and technology expertise, with direct cooperation established with provinces of the People's Republic of China. ️ The region's investment portfolio has expanded with projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars following negotiations with partners from the Republic of Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and France. Specifically, a $300 million livestock complex is planned in Gulistan District, and food production will be launched in Yangiyer in partnership with the company Bonduelle. Construction of a data processing center will begin in the city of Shirin, as part of developing the region's digital economy. ️ Ambitious targets have been set for the current year: attracting $3 billion in investments and increasing exports to $500 million. This is supposed to ensure industrial production growth of 8.2% and service sector growth of 15.4%. The social reform block aims to radically reduce poverty—from the current 6.2% to 3% by year-end. For this, 10 trillion soums are allocated to support businesses, which allegedly will provide jobs for 185,000 people. ️ Infrastructure development includes repairs to 47 schools, 45 kindergartens, and 35 medical facilities at a total cost of $100 million. The drinking water supply level is planned to reach 89.5%. In the housing sector, 80 apartment buildings with 3,500 units will be constructed in 2026. Additionally, a pilot "Smart Village" project based on Hungarian experience will start in Havast District, purportedly ensuring transparency in budget fund distribution through a digital system. ️ In the agricultural sector, the company "Sirdaryo Agro Invest" is being established. Its task is to introduce water-saving technologies on 12,000 hectares and transfer ready-made agribusinesses to the population. Furthermore, construction of the "Sultanhovuz" reservoir in Bayavut District and the launch of a $100 million solar panel production plant are planned. The President emphasized that the result of each project must be a real increase in income for residents of every mahalla.
