Uzbekistan's youth national team defeated Australia 2-0 in the final group stage match of the Asian Cup being held in Saudi Arabia. The match took place on May 13 in Jeddah.

Mirkomil Murodov opened the scoring in the 28th minute. Just before halftime, in the 45th minute, Akhror Ravshanbekov scored to double Uzbekistan's lead.

The victory allowed Sergei Chigodayev's team to finish Group D in first place. Australia, which had already secured a spot in the knockout stage, finished second.

In the quarterfinals, Uzbekistan will face South Korea. The match is scheduled for May 16 at 21:00 Tashkent time. The opponent drew with Yemen (0:0) and the UAE (1:1), and defeated Vietnam (4:1).

The defending champions had already secured their quarterfinal spot and a place in the 2026 U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

After North Korea withdrew from the tournament, Group D consisted of only three teams: Uzbekistan, Australia, and India. In previous rounds, Uzbekistan beat India 3:0 and drew with Australia 1:1.
