Sherali Jorayev was born on April 12, 1947, in Asaka city, Andijan region. He studied at the Mannon Uygur Tashkent State Institute of Arts from 1966 to 1971, beginning his artistic career in 1972 with the “Shodlik” song and dance ensemble. Later, he worked at the Andijan Regional Philharmonic and the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan from 1979 to 1996, and served as chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 1990 to 1995.

From 1996 to 2017, he performed as a singer in the “O‘zbeknavo” estrada association, and from 2017 to 2021, he worked at the “O‘zbekkonsert” state institution. In 2021, he chaired the trusteeship council of the “Vatandoshlar” public fund. Jorayev was a recipient of the Alisher Navoi State Prize and sang over 600 songs throughout his career.

His popular songs, such as “Bandaman”, “O‘zbegim”, “Karvon”, “Atirgul”, “Birinchi muhabbatim”, “Do‘st bo‘lsang yonimda tur”, and “Sohibqiron”, have deeply resonated with the Uzbek people. He was awarded the “El-yurt hurmati” order in 2022 and passed away in 2023. On the occasion of the date, Gazeta prepared a test based on the songs of Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Sherali Jorayev.
