Due to the current situation in the Middle East, air travel from all Uzbekistan airports to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Iran, Kuwait, and Israel has been suspended. This applies to all airlines, reported Uzbekistan Airports press service.

Airlines are permitted to operate flights only to return passengers to Uzbekistan who departed before February 28. The end date of restrictions is unspecified, but a NOTAM indicates transportation to Saudi Arabia is limited until March 18.

Uzbekistan Airports recommended contacting airline offices for flight information and using only official sources. Citizens were urged not to trust individuals promising travel arrangements via third countries.

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised against travel to Middle East countries. The President ordered the organization of flights to repatriate citizens from Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar.

The Muslim Board announced a temporary suspension of the Umrah pilgrimage program. Officially, over 1,000 Uzbek pilgrims are currently in Saudi Arabia.
