The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) has released a detailed report on an incident that occurred on Sunday evening in the Yashnabad district. According to the report, 36-year-old driver Bobur Pardayev, while under the influence of alcohol, committed a traffic violation and then assaulted arriving patrol officers, striking one in the jaw.
Patrol officer Sardorbek Khamroyev stated in his account: "He hit me in the jaw. Then, using a special device—a stun gun—we neutralized the citizen and took him to the station". The incident took place on the night of March 30 in the Yashnabad district following a collision between Malibu and Leapmotor vehicles, where Pardayev ran a red light, caused an accident, and resisted the officers who arrived at the scene.
Footage circulated on social media shows Pardayev elbowing an officer in the face, with a man identified as his brother attempting to intervene. As a result, a criminal case has been initiated against Pardayev for failing to comply with lawful demands of internal affairs officers.
The repercussions extended further: Pardayev's brother—a senior officer in the Syrdarya Regional DIA, Lieutenant Colonel Sherzod Pardayev—was dismissed from his position by ministerial order for attempting to interfere in the situation. In the released video, Bobur Pardayev expressed remorse, particularly regretting the damage to his brother's reputation: "I regret what I did a thousand times, I ask for forgiveness. If I had caused a traffic accident, others could have suffered because of me. I undermined the reputation of my brother, who worked in the authorities for so many years. Alcohol is to blame for everything. This will not happen again. I repent".
