American singer D4vd, legally known as David Anthony Burke, has been arrested by Los Angeles police on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her remains were discovered on September 8, 2025, in his Tesla vehicle, sparking a high-profile investigation and public intrigue over the macabre case.

Police reports indicate that Rivas Hernandez's severely decomposed body was found in a cadaver bag in the front boot of the Tesla, with officials suggesting she may have been dead for several weeks prior. The medical examiner has deferred a ruling on the cause of death, pending further investigation. The teenager had been reported missing by her family in April 2024, and this was not her first time running away from home in Lake Elsinore.

Court filings revealed that D4vd was identified as a "target" of a grand jury investigation in Los Angeles and could face proceedings for one count of murder. Notably, Rivas Hernandez had a tattoo reading "Shhh…" on her index finger, nearly identical to one on the singer's own finger, adding to the circumstantial evidence.

Following the discovery, D4vd cancelled his world tour and was dropped from marketing campaigns with brands like Hollister and Crocs, while singer Kali Uchis removed their collaboration track. Burke is currently held without bail, with the case set to be presented to the District Attorney's office on Monday, highlighting ongoing challenges and legal scrutiny in the U.S. entertainment industry.
