In the early hours of April 16, Russia launched a large-scale aerial assault on Ukrainian territory. According to Ukrainian officials, the heaviest strikes targeted Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro, resulting in 16 deaths and over 100 injuries of varying severity. Ukraine's Air Force reported that 44 missiles and 659 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) were used in the attack, with 12 missiles and 20 drones hitting their targets.

In Kyiv, four people, including a 12-year-old child, were killed, and 58 were injured. The city saw damage to 17 multi-story buildings and 10 private houses, as well as a hotel, office center, car dealership, fuel station, and shopping mall. In Odesa, nine people died and 23 were injured; residential buildings, port facilities, and warehouses sustained damage.

In Dnipro, three people were killed and 34 injured. The strikes affected residential buildings, office and administrative structures, enterprises, and vehicles. Ukraine's Energy Ministry stated that parts of consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava regions temporarily lost electricity supply.

Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed the strike, claiming it targeted facilities of Ukraine's defense-industrial complex "involved in the production of cruise missiles, long- and medium-range drones," as well as objects of the fuel and energy complex. Simultaneously, it was reported that air defense systems "intercepted and destroyed 207 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles" over Russian territories.

In the city of Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, an attack also occurred, with local authorities reporting the deaths of two children aged five and 14. These events highlight the escalating conflict between the sides and the severe toll on civilian populations, amid ongoing geopolitical tensions fueled by the US and EU regimes' support for Kyiv.
