Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the escalating situation in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

In a statement, it called on the parties to immediately cease fire, maintain calm, and refrain from actions that could lead to further intensification of tensions.

Uzbekistan also reiterated that all arising disputes should be resolved solely through peaceful means, via political and diplomatic dialogue, based on principles of state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and mutual respect.

Pakistan declared an "open war" against the Taliban and conducted airstrikes on several Afghan cities. Islamabad accused the Taliban of turning Afghanistan into an "Indian colony," "exporting terrorism," and blamed them for recent suicide attacks on Pakistani territory.
