President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev left for Moscow on May 8 on a working visit, the presidential press service reported.

According to the visit's program, the head of state will take part in ceremonial events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the victory in World War II.

On May 7, a number of media outlets, and on the morning of May 8, Gazeta, citing their sources, reported that the visit to Moscow was not planned. This information turned out to be false.
