️ Uzbekistan has established a capability to track the entire process of assistance for people living with HIV in real-time, covering all stages from diagnosis to treatment outcome evaluation.
️ According to a UNDP report for 2025, the system for the first time allows visibility of the full... continuum of care. Bahrom Igamberdiev, Director of the Republican Center for AIDS Control, stated that the new system enables risk prediction, proactive action, and ensures service continuity instead of reacting to problems after the fact.
️ The electronic HIV system has been transformed into a unified national platform, integrating 477 medical institutions. The modernization has eliminated fragmented paper-based processes, with doctors gaining real-time access to patient medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
️ For people living with HIV, the new platform removes the need for repeated tests and extra paperwork, reduces waiting times at medical facilities, and provides timely reminders for visits and follow-up. The system delivers continuous, person-centered medical care regardless of where patients seek treatment.
️ Amid declining global funding and increasing strain on healthcare systems, the UNDP's activities have served as a crucial stabilizing factor. In collaboration with the government of Uzbekistan, uninterrupted access to antiretroviral therapy has been secured for 46,500 people living with HIV, preserving life-saving treatment.
️ As of December 1, 2025, over 52,000 people in Uzbekistan are living with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
