On April 22, within the framework of his working visit to Kazakhstan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with heads of delegations from Central Asian countries, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, visited the national pavilions at the Regional Environmental Summit exhibition held at the EXPO International Exhibition Center in Astana.

The RES-2026 summit focuses on eight priority areas reflecting a comprehensive approach to environmental policy: combating climate change, ensuring food security and ecosystem sustainability, adapting to natural risks and enhancing economic resilience, reducing air pollution and efficient waste management, developing mechanisms for achieving environmental goals, sustainable management of natural resources, a just and inclusive “green” transition, and developing environmental and digital competencies.

Uzbekistan’s pavilion, designed as an interactive and multimedia exhibition space, showcases the priority directions of state policy in ecology, climate change, and sustainable development in Central Asia. It also demonstrates Uzbekistan’s contribution to strengthening regional and international cooperation in the environmental sphere.

The high-ranking guests were presented with an exposition featuring key initiatives aimed at forming a modern environmental development model. These include nationwide projects such as “Waste-Free Territory,” “Clean Air,” “Yashil Makon,” “Eco-Culture,” “Bioheritage,” and “Environmental Education.”

Special attention was paid to overcoming the consequences of the Aral Sea tragedy, as well as developing partnerships with international organizations, primarily UN structures.
