A major fire broke out at the Beshkurgan Market in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent on April 5. Videos circulating on social media show a thick column of black smoke rising above the market area, with people hastily evacuating goods and vehicles from the premises.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a report of a fire in a shop at the Beshkurgan Market, located on TKAD Street in Chilanzar district, was received at 15:56 on April 5. Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and commenced firefighting operations.

The Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Azizbek Ikromov, personally visited the site to oversee the response efforts. The fire was contained by 16:53 and fully extinguished by 18:18. There have been no reports of casualties.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage. The incident is expected to cause temporary disruptions to market operations, posing challenges for local vendors and residents, and raising concerns about fire safety standards in urban commercial areas.
