Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. Moscow and Tashkent intend to elevate bilateral trade to a new level: by 2030, the countries plan to multiply mutual trade turnover, bringing it to $30 billion.

This was stated by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government of the two countries. According to him, Russia is already among the key trading partners of Uzbekistan. In 2025, mutual trade turnover grew by almost 12.5% and approached one trillion rubles. Agreements between the countries' leaders provide for further growth.

Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov emphasized that over the past five years, the volume of mutual trade has doubled and exceeded $13 billion. Moreover, positive dynamics persist: in just the first two months of this year, trade increased by another 30%.

To achieve the ambitious goal, the countries are expanding the structure of supplies, focusing on high value-added products and deepening industrial cooperation.

One of the key areas of cooperation remains energy. In particular, Russia has already begun implementing a project to build a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. According to the Russian side's assessment, this project will ensure long-term energy stability and become a driver of economic growth.

Simultaneously, interaction in the oil and gas sector is developing: supplies of Russian oil and gas continue, new wells are being drilled, and processing and gas transportation infrastructure is being modernized.

Additionally, about 150 joint investment projects worth over 4 trillion rubles are being implemented in Uzbekistan, and two industrial parks with Russian business participation are operating.
