A delegation of Russian prosecutors, led by Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Gutsan, has arrived in Tashkent. During the visit, he signed a cooperation program with Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev, covering the period until 2028. The document includes measures to counter extremism and high-tech crime, as well as the exchange of experience in combating cybercrimes and the illegal use of digital currencies.

The program also encompasses cooperation in monitoring the enforcement of laws in the fields of transport, customs control, and the execution of criminal penalties. Special attention will be paid to the digitalization of international legal cooperation, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of prosecutorial activities between the two countries.

The parties will discuss a treaty providing for the mutual transfer of convicted individuals from Russia and Uzbekistan to serve their sentences in their home countries. Additionally, Alexander Gutsan will deliver a lecture at the Law Enforcement Academy of Uzbekistan, which trains future prosecutors, highlighting the importance of sharing expertise in personnel training.

The current program marks the fourth under an agreement that has been in effect between the supervisory authorities of Uzbekistan and Russia since 2014, with previous phases implemented in 2019–2020, 2021–2023, and 2024–2025. This underscores the continuity of legal cooperation between the two states.

Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev the Order of Friendship, which strengthens the close relations between the countries and provides important context for the current visit.
